शिवकालीन होन

 




रायगडावरील यंदाच्या शिवराज्याभिषेक सोहळ्यासाठी दुर्मिळ असे शिवकालीन होन मिळाले.

होन हे छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांच्या राज्याभिषेकावेळी प्रसिद्ध केलेलं सोन्यापासून बनवलेलं चलन होतं.
याबद्दल युवराज संभाजीराजे छत्रपती यांनी म्हटलं, 'स्वराज्याचे सार्वभौमत्व व संपन्नतेचे प्रतीक असणारा 'होन' हे केवळ चलन नसून आपली अस्मिता आहे; राष्ट्राचा अमूल्य ऐतिहासिक ठेवा आहे. रायगडच्या पवित्र भूमीत मिळालेल्या या ऐतिहासिक 'होन'च्या साक्षीनेच यंदाचा राज्याभिषेक सोहळा साजरा.'

COINS DURING SHIVAJI’S RULE




Shivaji Maharaj had introduced his own coins as a sign of his independent kingdom. The coins were of two kinds. The first were of gold and the second were of copper and they bore his name on them. The coins made of copper were famous as ‘Shivrai’. It is found that the coins bore the inscription ‘Shree Rajashiv’ on the front and on the other side‘Chhatrapati’. The mint of Shivaji was at Rajgad. The coins of Shivaji Maharaj were in circulation in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tunjavur at that time.

शिवराई



शिवराई OBVERSE श्री राजा शिव REVERS छत्रपति.

A shivrai { शिवराई } was a copper coin of CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ { छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज 1630 – 1680 }. Shivaji Maharaj was crowned a king in a lavish ceremony at Raigad on 6 June 1674. Shivaji Maharaj became CHHATRAPTI of the Swaraj. As a symbol of the RAJYABHISHEKA SHIV SHAKA { राज्याभिषेक शिवशक } was started. shivaji Maharaj became the founder of a new Era. 6 June 1674 On the occasion of a special coins were minted. a gold coin called HONE{ होन approx weight 2.8 gms. } and a copper coin called SHIVRAI { शिवराई approx 10 to 13 gms.} with a legend SHRI RAJA SHIV CHHATRAPATI { श्री राजा शिव छत्रपति } inscribed on them. There after, all royal correspondence { Rajpatra } carried the words KSHATRIYAKULWANTAS SHRI RAJA SHIV CHHATRAPATI
{ क्षत्रियकुलवनतस श्री राजा शिव छत्रपति }.
